Grants and Legislation

Leanna brings a powerful combination of data expertise and nonprofit passion to her role on the grant and legislative position for NCPGA. With a background in educational data systems and a deep commitment to local animal rescues, Leanna offers a unique perspective that aligns perfectly with the organization's mission. Her for animal welfare and experience in impact-driven initiatives help guide thoughtful, transparent decisions and support the growth of pet-related nonprofits across North Carolina.

Caitlin Christie, ICMG, CCE, AKC-PGC

Education & Community Outreach

Cait is going on her 13th year of professional pet grooming and has many years of other pet industry experience. She also founded a Certified Pet Groomers Facebook page for likeminded groomers searching for continued education and a safe space. Currently working on her NCMG and always striving to keep learning, Cait applies her knowledge and is known for her work with modified and breed standards, skin rescue, seniors and anxious dogs. Always bringing a holistic approach to each pet and their needs, Cait is looking to spread knowledge to clients and fellow groomers.

Melissa Cowen

Newly appointed, Secretary of the NCPGA, is a recent NC State graduate whose leadership and organizational skills have already made a lasting impact. During her time at NC State, she successfully led multiple students and community groups, always keeping engagement and collaboration at the core. Her passion for structured growth and clear communication ensures NCPGA remains organized, connected, and forward-thinking in it's mission to support the pet grooming community across North Carolina.
