Amanda Borge

Founder

Amanda founded the NCPGA to unite and empower pet groomers across North Carolina through education, advocacy, and industry-led regulation. As a Master Groomer certified by NDGAA, IPG, and AKC, Amanda brings decades of hands-on expertise and a deep understanding of professional standards. She is also the owner of Mosa Pet Spa Resort & Boutique, a leading grooming and wellness destination known for its individualized, Holistic care . Her mission through NCPGA is to elevate the grooming profession by creating a groomer-led association that supports workforce development, strengthens safety standards, and ensures quality care for pets statewide.

Leanna Morell

Grants & Legislation

Leanna brings a powerful combination of data expertise and nonprofit passion to her role on the grant and legislative position for NCPGA. With a background in educational data systems and a deep commitment to local animal rescues, Leanna offers a unique perspective that aligns perfectly with the organization's mission. Her for animal welfare and experience in impact-driven initiatives help guide thoughtful, transparent decisions and support the growth of pet-related nonprofits across North Carolina.

Ernesto Borge

Treasurer

Ernesto brings a unique blend of corporate leadership and small business operations to his role as Treasurer of the NCPGA. With a background in corporate management, he has held leadership positions where he oversaw budgeting, compliance, and team development, skills that translate seamlessly into overseeing the financial health and strategic planning of a growing association.  In addition to his corporate experience, Ernesto has served in a human resources role at his family's pet salon and boarding facility. There, he managed staffing, payroll, scheduling, and operational efficiencies gaining firsthand insight into the challenges and opportunities within the grooming industry. His ability to navigate both the business and people-focused sides of grooming make him an invaluable asset.  As Treasurer, Ernesto leverages his analytical mindset, organizational strength, and genuine passion for the pet care industry to ensure fiscal responsibility and support the NCPGA's mission of advancing professional grooming standards across NC.

Caitlin Christie, ICMG, CCE, AKC-PGC

Education

Cait is going on her 13th year of professional pet grooming and has many years of other pet industry experience. She also founded a Certified Pet Groomers Facebook page for likeminded groomers searching for continued education and a safe space. Currently working on her NCMG and always striving to keep learning, Cait applies her knowledge and is known for her work with modified and breed standards, skin rescue, seniors and anxious dogs. Always bringing a holistic approach to each pet and their needs, Cait is looking to spread knowledge to clients and fellow groomers.

Melissa Cowen

Secretary

Newly appointed, Secretary of the NCPGA, is a recent NC State graduate whose leadership and organizational skills have already made a lasting impact. During her time at NC State, she successfully led multiple students and community groups, always keeping engagement and collaboration at the core. Her passion for structured growth and clear communication ensures NCPGA remains organized, connected, and forward-thinking in it's mission to support the pet grooming community across North Carolina.

Selena Brown

Communication & Outreach

Selena Brown brings a unique perspective to the NCPGA board, having grown up in a family-run grooming salon that later transitioned to franchise ownership. She worked through the shift, gaining valuable insight into both personalized client care and the demands of a larger business model.  With professional grooming certifications and a strong interest in social media, branding, and industry trends, Selena is passionate about bridging the gap between groomers, clients, and the broader pet care community. Her experience and forward-thinking approach make her a key voice in expanding outreach and building stronger connections across North Carolina's grooming industry.
